ARCL ("ARCL," "we," "us," "our") is a gamified career-development and job-preparation platform. We're launching with Software Engineering as the first career path, with more career paths planned over time.
ARCL isn't limited to USC or any single school. Student communities are an early focus, but we also distribute ARCL publicly — for example through job-search and software-engineering communities like Reddit — so our users may be located anywhere in the U.S. and potentially internationally. During onboarding you can describe your career stage (student/new grad, early career, mid-level, senior, career switcher, actively job searching, casually exploring, or not currently looking but interested in career development) so we can personalize your experience.

We only collect what a feature you actually turn on needs — most of this list only applies once you use the corresponding part of the product.
We use your information to provide and improve ARCL — running the quest/XP system, tracking applications and career-track progress, generating simulation and interview feedback, personalizing your experience based on your career stage and goals, managing beta access, communicating product updates, maintaining security, and understanding how the product is used.

Relevant portions of your submitted information may be transmitted to a third-party AI provider to generate the requested output. We don't use your submissions to train third-party foundation models beyond what's needed to generate your response, and we don't sell this content. Exact retention, training, and processing terms depend on which AI provider(s) we use in production — this section should be finalized once those vendors are locked in, and reviewed against each provider's own data-processing terms.
Your information is private by default. If you choose to create a shareable proof-of-work profile, it's accessible only to people you send the direct link to — it isn't searchable or publicly browsable — and may show selected information such as your username/name, level, badges, completed projects, and simulation performance.
Private information — your full application history, rejection details, saved recruiter contacts, private documents (resumes, cover letters, interview notes), and raw activity logs — does not automatically appear there. You control what, if anything, appears on your shareable profile.
ARCL currently uses, or plans to use, third-party providers including:
These providers process information on our behalf only as necessary to provide their services. We may change providers as ARCL grows; this policy is written to cover our use of reasonable service providers generally, rather than needing an update every time a vendor changes.
We store information for as long as your account is active, and as reasonably necessary to provide ARCL, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain security. If you delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it (e.g. legal or security reasons). Backups may retain deleted data for a limited additional period before being purged as part of routine backup cycles.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us (Section 15).
California/U.S. residents:depending on your state, you may have rights to know what personal information we've collected about you, to request correction or deletion of it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.We'll respond to verified requests consistent with applicable law.
We use basic cookies and analytics tools to understand how people use ARCL and to keep you logged in. We don't use this data for third-party ad targeting.
ARCL may have users outside the United States. If you use ARCL from another country, your information will likely be processed and stored in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your home country. If you're on a visa (e.g. F-1 OPT), note that ARCL is not a legal, immigration, or tax advisor — you're responsible for confirming that any activity you log or projects you complete comply with your own work-authorization rules.
ARCL is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use ARCL where required by your local law.
We distinguish necessary product/beta-access communications from optional marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time; we may still need to send you essential account or security notices.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, but no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we'll notify affected users as required by applicable law.
ARCL's beta is free, and we do not collect payment information at the waitlist stage. If we introduce paid subscriptions in the future (e.g. ARCL Pro), payment information will be collected and processed by a third-party payment processor, and additional billing terms will apply at that time.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We'll update the effective date above whenever we do, and we'll flag material changes to users where appropriate.
